Thinking Outside The Box
By GLENN DAVIS DOCTOR G
In the rapidly changing world of technology, keeping up is the name of the game. Something is about to happen in a big way, and it comes in the form of a cloud. A storm of new technology is poised to change the world of data.
The capital and man hours already invested in Cloud Technology serves to drive home the scope of what is to come. Computing giant Dell has no less than 10 data centers globally that will be dedicated to the hosting of cloud computing. Dell will invest over one billion dollars just for it’s launch of cloud services.
Mobile service providers such as Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and others, have just announced changes to their data plans that will coincide with the adjustments necessary for a healthy cloud service industry. The cost to cloud will obviously come down over time. At the outset, however, the cost to cloud is already a bargain for the consumer and at the same time, offers huge profit for the industry. As time progresses, it will be apparent to many, including (but not limited to) radio broadcast, television, film, music and print and press media, that Clouding is a Boone for business. The fact that Amazon is the guinea pig for the Music Cloud should benefit them (at least short term).
There is one thing that stands out more than anything about cloud computing and cloud service: The Cloud will most likely make many existing technologies obsolete in one fell swoop.
